Well, it's August and I for one am ready for "the dog days of summer" to be over. Technically we still have until August 11th for the season when, according to The Farmer's Almanac, "The sun occupies the same region of the sky as Sirius, the brightest star visible from any part of the Earth and part of the constellation Canis Major, the Greater Dog.
